Safe lift in the heart of Copenhagen
In 2023, Copenhagen was named UNESCO World Capital of Architecture. In this connection, a world congress of architects was held at Copenhagen City Hall, and the event was marked with a 14-meter wide and 30-meter high banner on the city hall tower.
Copenhagen City Hall is located in one of the city's busiest areas. Vester Voldgade is, among other things, an important cycle route to and from the city centre. This placed special demands on roadblocks, traffic management and safety for pedestrians, cyclists and employees.
BMS solved the task with a 90-meter truck-mounted lift. The lift was set up on 2 x 3 meter iron plates, 25 mm thick. The plates were laid out on the cycle path to protect the surface and ensure stable installation.
The result was a safe and efficient installation of the banner in an area with high traffic and limited space. A task where planning, safety and consideration for the surroundings were crucial.
