BMS elevates culture at Smukfest
Every year in the days leading up to Smukfest in Skanderborg, BMS Aarhus helps build the stages so that the music can fill the forest. When the festival ends, BMS Aarhus helps take down the stages and clean up so that nature can breathe freely again.
Smukfest started in 1980 with just 1,000 guests, but today the festival is one of Denmark's largest with around 60,000 daily visitors. The festival is owned by a democratically elected assembly with over 16,500 members, many of whom actively contribute to planning and implementation. With a turnover of approximately over 15 million euros, more than half is spent on music, and BMS helps to ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
BMS' role shows how technology and logistics can enhance cultural experiences and create security for both festival goers and organizers.
