Roof structures lifted off and reused in Hirtshals

At Fyrrevænget in Hirtshals, a major renovation is underway, where existing roof structures are lifted off, stored and later put back in place.

BMS is part of the project, where the roofs from 9 residential blocks will be handled over the next six months.

It is a job where reuse, planning and safe lifting must go hand in hand.

The roofs still have years left in them

Instead of tearing down the roof structures and building new ones from scratch, the existing roofs are being preserved and reused.

The roofs are lifted free from the buildings and placed temporarily on site. Once the buildings are ready, the roofs will be lifted back into position.

This allows part of the existing construction to live on in the renovated buildings.

First lift completed as planned

The first roof has now been lifted at Fyrrevænget.

For BMS, the task is about creating a safe setup around each lift, so the roof structures can be handled calmly from start to finish.

The roofs must come off the buildings, be placed temporarily and later go back on again.

A renovation with more accessible homes

The renovation means that the homes at Fyrrevænget will be converted from two floors into one floor. This will provide better accessibility for the residents and make the area more suitable for both families, older residents and people with special needs.

When the renovation is complete, the current 184 homes will become 157 homes, and the area will have more light, air and green outdoor spaces.

BMS will continue the work at Fyrrevænget, where several roof structures will be lifted off, stored and put back in place again.
