Crane services and jacking & skidding for data centres

Experience with data centre projects since 2018

BMS has provided crane services, jacking and skidding, and project management for data centre projects in Denmark since 2018. We help contractors plan and carry out lifting operations with demanding requirements for safety, documentation and the handling of sensitive equipment.

With branches across Denmark and expertise in cranes, machinery moving and technical planning, we can bring several parts of a project together through one supplier.

Understanding the requirements of data centres

Data centre construction requires careful coordination between many different trades. Deliveries must fit the construction schedule, and work must follow established safety procedures and documentation requirements.

Through our work on Danish data centre projects, we have gained experience with these requirements. We help plan and carry out operations in cooperation with contractors and other teams on site.

Discretion is also a natural part of the work. We respect our customers’ confidentiality requirements and do not share project information without permission.

Cranes and machinery moving for sensitive equipment

When large components and technical equipment need to be unloaded, moved or positioned, the solution depends on factors including weight, available space and access routes.

BMS can provide mobile cranes, crawler cranes and truck-mounted cranes, as well as specialist equipment for jacking, skidding and moving heavy components within a site.

Where a crane cannot complete the entire operation, jacking and skidding can form part of the solution. This makes it possible to move and position equipment where restricted access limits the use of cranes.

We can also supply steel plates and truck-mounted lifts as required.

Project management and technical planning

Many lifting operations require preparation long before equipment arrives on site.

BMS can provide project management, appointed persons, lift planning and engineering. This includes assessing access conditions, selecting equipment, carrying out technical calculations and planning how the work will be performed.

By bringing planning and execution together at BMS, we can improve coordination between technical solutions and practical work on site.

Safety and documentation throughout the project

Data centre projects often involve extensive requirements for safety, employee competencies and documentation.

At BMS, we work systematically with:

  • E-learning and documentation of employee competencies
  • Recording training and qualifications in our competency database
  • Certificates and inspection documentation for lifting equipment through EasyCert
  • RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), which are regularly reviewed and updated to reduce risks during operations
  • Planning and coordination with other teams on site

Safety and documentation are integral to both the preparation and execution of our work.

A partner throughout Denmark

With experience from data centre projects since 2018, branches throughout Denmark and expertise in crane services, jacking and skidding, and project management, BMS can assist from initial planning through to on-site execution.

This applies to individual lifting operations as well as larger projects where several services need to be coordinated.
