Lifting Diagrams

A load with an offset centre of gravity requires more than enough lifting capacity. The lifting gear also needs to bring the load into balance and keep the movement steady throughout the lift.
That was the purpose of a recent test at BMS in Kolding, where a hydraulic pewag levo levelling hoist was tested together with Fyns Kran Udstyr.

Several employees followed the test lift and saw how the equipment performs when a load needs to be balanced and adjusted during the lift.

Seeing the lifting gear in action

The hoist has two chain outlets, allowing the heavier end of the load to be raised or lowered until the load is level. The free-running function also makes it possible to position the hoist above the centre of gravity before the lift begins.

One of the things that stood out during the test was the smooth movement. The hydraulic system allows the load to be adjusted gradually, while the remote control makes it possible to make corrections during the lift.

A data sheet tells you what the equipment can do. A test lift shows you how it actually behaves. That was the point of the day in Kolding.

From testing to the real job

Seeing the equipment in operation provides a better basis for assessing when it is the right solution for a specific lifting task.

Fyns Kran Udstyr supplies lifting gear to BMS and also carries out the statutory inspections.

They have also produced three short videos from the test in Kolding, showing the levelling hoist in operation.
